These are the requirements: 1. 4 photocopies of the Child's Birth Certificate - in English and should be typewritten/computerized(issued from the maternity hospital) translated in English (The address should be simplified for example: I-Sarang OB GYNE Clinic, Busan, Korea -- 2. 4 photocopies of parents passport (1st page and last) 3. Marriage contract (4 photocopies) 4. 3 passport size Pictures (royal blue background- no hats, wearing shirts with collar and should comply with the standards of applying the regular passport- pls. refer to the DFA homepage for more info about the picture) We had a hard time doing this because we took Chloe's passport pictures in a photo studio in our neighborhood and we had it in white background. _______________________________________________________ I was featured at the local newspaper ( Busan Ilbo ) last January 24, 2009. Actually it was a group interview composing of four "foreign ajummas" (married women) from Philippines (me), China, Vietnam and Japan. It was all about the Korean Holidays -- traditions and beliefs that differ from our native country and how we spend the Korean Holidays with our Korean family. My in-laws were surprised seeing me in the paper because I kept it a secret for days and never told anyone (except Tommy) that I'd been interviewed a few days before it was published. After seeing the newspaper (I didn't like my picture though...) they called me at once to congratulate ( if that's the word...?) and told me that my dad-in-law had a good laugh after reading the article (my father-in-law is the traditional 경상남도 남자 [Gyeongsang Nam Do Man] who never wears his heart on his sleeves. SO I got little at ease when they told me so... haha...

I'm sorry if it would be a trite story to begin with why I didn't update my blog for a very long time. First, I'm really busy because of the school vacation schedule. I have to work two hours early than my regular class and finish a little late because of my special class. Then I also have a weekend class to make. Second is that, I try to make up for the lost time with Chloe. Third, I've got some private classes, volunteer jobs and friends to meet once a month ( I have 4 group meetings ) So I usually have no extra time at all on my free days. Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year... I wonder why year-ends are always this busy! My niece from Thailand came a week before christmas and stayed for the holidays. December and January are the most populated birthday celebrants including my in-laws, niece and nephews. So these leave me to sleep late and wake up early the next day~ Am I now excused? hihihi~
